Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner and learns customers’ names where possible.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing items, loading or unloading heavy items, and passing along customer suggestions or requests.
• Performs other tasks to enhance the shopping experience.
• Answers telephone and emails promptly with friendly, helpful service.
• Accurately selects groceries ordered online by customers and chooses high-quality produce, meat, and other fresh products.
• Authorities items from all temperature zones and adheres to company policies and store guidelines.
• Reports to work as scheduled and on time.

Secondary Duties And Responsibilities

• Processes customer orders through POS and handles payment.
• Stores orders at proper temperature and retrieves them promptly before customer pickup.
• Maintains product temperature throughout the process and assists with pickup logistics.
• Loads groceries into customer vehicles and monitors incoming online orders for on-time fulfillment.
• Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Education And Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Visual requirements for near detail with or without correction.
• Medium work: occasionally lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds; frequently standing, walking, and lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds.
• Stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking and hearing required.

Working Conditions

Mostly in a retail store setting with potential exposure to dust, noise, and temperature extremes. Possible hazards from moving equipment and electrical shock. Fast-paced environment with deadlines and multiple projects daily.

Equipment Used to Perform Job

• Pallet jack, box cutter, cash registers, trash compactor, forklift, calculator, telephone, intercom, cardboard compactor, copier, fax (within wage and hour guidelines).

Daily contact with store personnel, customers, and the general public.

Location and Compensation

Council Bluffs, IA; $18.50-$19.50 per hour.
