Overview

Aisles Online Shopper at Hy-Vee. Responsible for selecting “the best of the best” products for our online shoppers and accurately selecting groceries ordered online by customers.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store.
• Makes an effort to learn customers’ names and to address them by name whenever possible.
• Assists customers by: escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading or unloading heavy items, noting and passing along customer suggestions or requests, and performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience.
• Answers the telephone and emails promptly, providing friendly, helpful service to customers who call.
• Accurately selects groceries ordered online by customers.
• Selects highest quality produce, meat, and other fresh products; selects, scans, and bags items from all temperature zones.
• Adheres to company policies and store guidelines.
• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.

Secondary Duties And Responsibilities

• Tenders customer orders through POS and charges the customer’s credit card.
• Places gathered orders in storage at proper temperature and retrieves them prior to customer’s arrival.
• Ensures products maintain proper temperature through the entire process.
• Carts orders to and places in holding area for pickup.
• Lifts, carries, and loads groceries into customer vehicles.
• Continuously monitors incoming online orders to ensure prompt fulfillment.
• Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Education And Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Visual requirements include the ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.
• Must be physically able to perform medium work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects up to 50 pounds, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting/carrying of objects up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, reach, handle, grasp, feel, talk, hear and perform repetitive motions.

Working Conditions

The duties are mostly performed in a retail store setting. The role may be exposed to dust, noise, and temperature extremes with potential hazards from moving equipment and electrical shock. There is constant pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Equipment Used

• Pallet jack, box cutter, cash registers, trash compactor, forklift, calculator, telephone, intercom, cardboard compactor, copier, fax (within wage and hour guidelines).
