You will serve as an ACCOUNTANT in the COMPTROLLER GROUP, FINANCIAL IMPROVEMENT AND AUDIT REMEDIATION DEPARTMENT of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Duties: You will serve as an Accountant on the Financial Improvement Audit Remediation (FIAR) Team. You will review documentation and data related to business processes, and ensure documentation cites proper internal controls, general ledger postings, and key supporting documentation required for an audit ready environment. You will be responsible for supporting analysis of Working Capital Fund financial statements and Navy ERP financial reports to facilitate full Navy financial statement audits. You will be responsible for supporting Internal Sustainment Testing and Internal Control Testing efforts.

Requirements

Conditions of employment: Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.

Qualifications

DA-04: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or DA-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

DA-05: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or DA-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess: Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting.
