Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team. This role is well-suited for an accounting professional with experience in manufacturing or large public companies who thrives in a dynamic environment. You will play a key role in managing core accounting functions, supporting month-end close, and ensuring financial accuracy while collaborating across departments.
What you will work on
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
- Prepare schedules and reports to support audits, management reporting, and financial planning.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and support ongoing initiatives.
- Utilize ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and advanced Excel functions for reporting, analysis, and reconciliation.
- Adapt to evolving processes and contribute to process improvements within the accounting function.
What you will bring
- 3+ years of general accounting experience, ideally within manufacturing and/or a large public company environment.
- Strong knowledge of core accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and close processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced functions); ERP experience required, Oracle highly preferred.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication and follow-up skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Flexible and adaptable to thrive in a transitioning, fast-paced environment.
What you can expect
- Hybrid work arrangement with 2-3 days onsite in Mentor, Ohio. May flex to remote after 30 days.
- There is no C2C, 1099, third-party or H1-B sponsorship available. No relocation assistance offered.
- Compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience, including geographic location and market factors.
- Pay Rate: $35/hr
