We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant with 2–3 years of experience to join our finance team at our New Castle, Delaware facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing customer accounts, and serving as a key liaison between our finance department and clients. This role requires strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and a customer service mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
  • Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis
  • Maintain accurate general ledger entries and reconciliations
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes

Customer Interface & Account Management

  • Serve as primary accounting contact for assigned customer accounts
  • Process customer invoicing and billing for aviation services
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries promptly
  • Coordinate with operations team regarding customer contract terms and service delivery
  • Maintain accurate customer account records and credit analyses
  • Prepare customer account statements and aging reports

Aviation-Specific Accounting

  • Process transactions related to aircraft services, maintenance, and parts inventory
  • Manage fuel billing and aviation service charges
  • Oversee accounts receivable for flight operations and maintenance services
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and aviation accounting standards
  • Support aircraft lease accounting and depreciation schedules

General Accounting Duties

  • Process accounts payable and vendor payments
  • Assist with payroll processing and tax filings
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
  • Support internal and external audit processes
  • Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and company policies

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2–3 years of accounting experience (aviation, transportation, or service industry preferred)
  • CPA candidate or actively pursuing CPA certification preferred

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar ERP systems)
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and analysis
  • Knowledge of GAAP and basic tax principles
  • Familiarity with accounts receivable and billing systems

Aviation Industry Knowledge

  • Understanding of aviation operations and terminology preferred
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations related to financial transactions
  • Experience with aviation maintenance billing and parts inventory a plus

  • Knowledge of aviation fuel billing and pricing
  • Experience with multi-location or subsidiary accounting

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work on-site at New Castle, Delaware facility
  • Standard office environment with occasional visits to hangar/operational areas
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Extended periods of computer work and data entry
