The Opportunity
We are looking for a Graphic Designer to lead two key areas of design for Good Inside. You will own our social media design and bring Good Inside and Dr. Becky to life across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and more. Through your designs, you’ll create scroll-stopping, platform-native social content that deepens community connection, elevates our brand, and expands our content’s reach to new, untapped audiences.
You know what works on Reels vs. Carousels vs. Stories, love experimenting, and can quickly turn ideas into visuals that resonate with millions. You’ll partner closely with content, brand, and marketing to keep our visual identity sharp and consistent.
In addition, you will lead editorial design for the promotion of our in-app content, creating eye-catching, emotionally resonant “covers” to drive discovery of timely and topical programming within the Good Inside membership app.
This hybrid role requires 3 days per week in our Midtown Manhattan office.
What You’ll Own
- Social Media Design Creation: Craft the most compelling, thumb-stopping social-first visual content, including: static posts, carousel posts, Stories, YouTube thumbnails, and more.
- Support our short-form video strategy by creating and editing video content, including designing graphics for videos, editing podcast clips, and producing original videos.
- Translate written psychological concepts and ideas into clear, on-brand social media-friendly visuals that are optimized for each social platform.
- Regularly experiment and explore new creative directions for social media content.
- Partner with the Brand & Design teams to try new creative experiments, making sure what you design feels new and exciting, but still clearly reflects who we are as a brand and stays consistent with our identity.
- Apply feedback and implement revisions or edits efficiently to keep pace with the fast-moving nature of social media.
In-app Editorial Design
- Create visually striking, on-brand graphics for all in-app content that drive user engagement and make editorial stories pop.
- Experiment with new visual formats and layouts to elevate the content experience
- Partner with editorial and product teams to develop repeatable visual systems that scale across different content types while keeping the design fresh and distinctive.
Your Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience designing graphics and videos for social media, marketing, or brand – ideally within a digital-first, fast-paced team environment.
- Familiar with video-editing tools for social media (CapCut, in-app editors, Adobe Premiere Pro) and crafting “thumb-stopping” shareable content optimized for social platforms.
- Proficient in Canva, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, with experience designing directly within Instagram and TikTok's native tools, and an eagerness and willingness to learn new platforms
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and contribute strategic thinking beyond execution.
- Foundational understanding of AI tools and how they can enhance creative workflows
- Portfolio demonstrating a broad range of design and social media design skills.
- Excited about social media design and evolving our brand’s social media identity – you stay up to date with design trends and social media best practices.
- Speed, adaptability, and a bias toward action – you can go from concept to iteration quickly without sacrificing quality.
- Understanding of design for performance (e.g., what makes someone stop and click in a feed).
