TRICORD Consulting, a privately owned and operated company in business since 2013, is seeking an HR Generalist to join our team. We primarily work with petroleum refineries and chemical companies, providing them with complex air permitting and compliance support across the U.S. Our team includes nationally recognized experts who collaborate closely on projects. As a smaller specialty firm (~100 people), we foster a close-knit atmosphere where team members take on multiple responsibilities and grow rapidly. Most of our staff are based in Texas and Louisiana, but we have team members across the U.S. For this position, we are looking for the candidate to be based in Texas, ideally Houston.
About the Role
The HR Generalist will serve as support for a variety of HR functions and will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of HR processes within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Serve as support for a variety of HR functions including recruiting, employee/labor relations, health and safety, compensation, benefits, training, diversity, engagement, leave and attendance tracking, payroll, and employee records.
- Assist with onboarding new employees, including preparing offer letters, conducting background checks, and managing new hire paperwork.
- Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and answering employee inquiries.
- Support performance review processes, employee training, and professional development programs.
- Partner with leadership and staff to deliver HR support and solutions aligned with business needs.
- Facilitate communication of organizational policies and programs while ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and maintain employee data, records, and documentation.
- Evaluate, select, and oversee HR vendors and service providers as needed.
- Collaborate with HR leadership to process employment actions, payroll changes, and benefits administration.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Handle confidential employee information with discretion and professionalism.
- Assist with other HR projects and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of HR experience across multiple functions.
- Knowledge of HR principles, employment law, and workforce management best practices, multi-state compliance preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Proliant, Empower).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred Certifications: PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent.
