A mission-driven nonprofit is seeking an HR Director to oversee HR strategy and daily operations for 100+ employees. This role manages recruiting, training, payroll, and compliance while fostering an inclusive and positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities:

• Lead HR strategy in line with organizational goals
• Oversee recruiting, onboarding, training, payroll, and benefits
• Ensure compliance with California labor laws and nonprofit regulations
• Drive employee engagement, retention, and DEI initiatives
• Support leadership with workforce planning and succession planning
• Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and investigations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in HR, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred
• 5–7+ years HR leadership, ideally in nonprofit settings
• Strong knowledge of California labor laws and compliance
• Proven experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, and performance management
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
