Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst to join our Operations team. This role serves as a critical partner in ensuring the smooth flow of day-to-day operations while supporting broader organizational initiatives. Acting as the first line of operational support, the Business Analyst will manage request intake, validate business needs, and ensure issues are resolved or escalated appropriately.
Operating within our federated Operations model, this position will balance tactical execution with strategic alignment, bridging departmental priorities with cross-functional Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to deliver impactful outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Request Intake & Triage:
- Monitor and manage the department’s Jira backlog to ensure timely resolution of requests.
- Clarify requirements, validate business cases, and confirm expected outcomes for each request.
- Resolve business-as-usual (BAU) issues independently when feasible.
- Identify large-scale or cross-functional initiatives and escalate them to the Change Advisory Board (CAB) or relevant CoE.
- Process Understanding & Improvement:
- Document current processes, pain points, and opportunities for optimization.
- Translate departmental needs into clear user stories, functional requirements, or process maps.
- Partner with leadership to ensure solutions align with organizational strategy.
- Serve as a liaison between the department and Centers of Excellence (Systems, Analytics, Enablement).
- Represent department priorities in CAB and Ops Council meetings.
- Uphold documentation standards and enforce “Rules of Engagement” for request handling.
- Support training, onboarding, and rollout of new tools, processes, or systems.
- Monitor adoption rates and collect feedback from stakeholders.
- Provide actionable recommendations to refine and improve implemented solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications (must-haves)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in business analysis, operations, or process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of sales organization workflows and operational processes.
- Proficiency with Jira or similar ticketing/project management tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven skill in gathering, documenting, and clarifying requirements.
- Ability to effectively communicate with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Confidence in challenging unclear or low-value requests to maintain focus on high-impact work.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications (nice-to-haves)
- Experience in a federated or shared-services operational model.
- Familiarity with governance structures such as CAB or Ops Council.
- Background in change management or adoption-focused initiatives.
- Exposure to cross-functional project management or large-scale transformation programs.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to deconstruct complex problems and identify root causes.
- Structured Communication: Skilled in drafting precise, actionable documentation and requirements.
- Process Orientation: Strong capability in mapping workflows and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Governance Mindset: Committed to enforcing standards and ensuring operational discipline.
- Collaboration: Effective at working across teams, functions, and technical/non-technical audiences.
