About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 10.5 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - 2 years nursing experience - Experience working with trachs Description: This position involves providing care in a 23-bed step-down unit and a 16-bed medical surgical unit. The staff includes 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, and 4 patient care technicians during the day shift, with 1 charge nurse, 10 RNs, and 4 patient care technicians on the night shift. Patient ratios are typically 1:3-4 for step-down and 1:4-6 for medical-surgical care. Key equipment used in this unit includes lifts, chest tubes, cardiac drips, and care for stable vented patients and trachs. The electronic medical record system utilized is Cerner. Common procedures performed on this unit include trach care, chest tube management, and wound dressing changes. Candidates must demonstrate flexibility and a high level of clinical competence to fit the best personality profile for this position. Preferred qualifications include previous experience with Cerner. Six weekend shifts are required within a six-week period.
