About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45-19:15 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS and ACLS required Must-Have: Telemetry competency and progressive care experience Description: Client is a flagship facility known for delivering high clinical quality year over year. It has received national recognition for its patient safety and healthcare quality. The hospital has a comprehensive range of services, including a trauma center, stroke center, and a neonatal intensive care unit. As a regional leader, it provides specialized care and advanced surgical options. The unit consists of 20 beds focusing on mixed levels of care, including medical surgical and step-down patients. Nursing staffing on day shifts includes one charge nurse, four registered nurses, and two certified nursing assistants. On night shifts, staffing comprises one charge nurse, four registered nurses, and two certified nursing assistants. Common patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:6, depending on the level of care. The unit prioritizes short stays and has a quick turnover rate. Telemetry equipment is available, with all patients hardwired to bedside monitors if monitoring is indicated. The electronic medical record system used is Cerner. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, focus on patient experience, and possess qualities of kindness and compassion, being a team player. Floating to other units may be required based on patient care needs. Dress code consists of navy and/or white tops with navy bottoms. Every other weekend availability is required, with no call duties expected.
