GENERAL PURPOSE FOR JOB:
Keep the building clean, orderly, and in safe condition. Perform the cleaning duties(cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, removing trash, etc.), routine maintenance activities and special assignments, as directed.
Completing basic handy man fixing projects as needed.
Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sweep, mop, scrub, or vacuum building floors
Gather and empty trash
Keep restrooms clean and supplied
Clean and polish furniture and fixtures
Clean windows, glass partitions and mirrors with cleaner, sponges, and squeegees
Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications
Steam clean or shampoo carpets
Arrange chairs, tables, and/or pews for meetings, as needed
Cart and haul away items to dumpster, storage, vehicles, etc., as requested
Clean snow and/or debris from sidewalks, parking lot and walkways – sand and salt as well pick up sand and salt from the store Report to Corps Officer(s) any concerns and/or issues related to building maintenance/safety matters
Recommends for approval to corps officer(s) the purchase of maintenance supplies and services
General maintenance to facilities (i.e. – fixing toilets/ sinks, painting, general repair to property)
Pick up food donations when volunteers are away.
Other duties, as assigned by the corps officer(s)
Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of related experience
SKILLS AND COMPETENICIES
Perform job responsibilities in an independent and confident manner.
Ability to follow through with detailed work and scheduled responsibilities.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, usage, repair, and maintenance.
Ability to identify maintenance needs and repairs for the building.
