Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg - $1,913 per week in Cornelius, NC

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 18 months Med/Tele experience preferred License: Valid Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Strong experience in Med/Tele nursing - Ability to manage a variety of patient types and diagnoses Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit. The unit has 20 beds and experiences a variety of adult Med/Tele diagnoses. Common conditions include COPD, CHF, cardiac arrhythmias, uncontrolled diabetes, respiratory illnesses, GI infections, and behavioral health issues. Patient ratios are 1:4-5 for telemetry and 1:5-6 for MedSurg, depending on acuity. Surge staffing may increase ratios up to 1:7-8. A Certified Nursing Assistant will be available to assist with vitals, accuchecks, rounding, and ADL support. Skills required include trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, wound care, feeding tubes, and NGT placement and management. Common medications administered include Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin, Lasix, and Octreotide. The facility operates with continual support from respiratory therapy and hospitalist services available 24/7. Floating may be required within the region and scope of practice. Weekend rotation will be every other weekend. Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays. Requests for time off can be approved up to 6 days, excluding holidays. Schedule cycles occur every six weeks. Scrub color is navy.
