Preconstruction Executive What You'll Do:
As a Preconstruction Executive , you'll lead strategic efforts to secure and deliver profitable mechanical projects, with a focus on HVAC, plumbing, and process piping systems. You'll be responsible for driving business growth, managing preconstruction operations, and fostering strong relationships across teams and with external partners.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Sales & Marketing: Leverage deep understanding of cash flow, overhead, and cost structures to price work competitively and maximize profitability. Identify and pursue opportunities for value engineering, scope changes, and change orders.
- Business Planning: Develop and execute marketing and operational business plans. Collaborate with construction managers and contract executives to align on personnel, capital, and financial goals.
- Project Forecasting: Ensure accurate and consistent forecasting of project costs and profits using labor data, material tracking, and financial analysis.
- Leadership & Team Management: Provide direct leadership to project managers, engineers, and foremen. Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Relations: Build long-term, ethical relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure optimal pricing, performance, and quality.
- Internal Collaboration: Support internal teams by meeting deadlines, attending meetings, and ensuring efficient operations across departments.
- Training & Development: Actively participate in corporate training programs and industry organizations to promote ongoing education and represent company capabilities.
- Proven experience in HVAC, plumbing, and process piping systems
- Strong background in business management, sales, marketing, and operations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with internal teams and external clients
- Solid understanding of contracts and ability to draft professional correspondence
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience (8+ years)
