NASSCO. This opportunity is located in Norfolk, Virginia. The hours are 0600-1445, LOCALS ONLY. Responsibilities

Manage a CMAV type availability from the Planning Phase through final milestone, ensuring completion and successful delivery back to the customer. Possess in-depth knowledge of both Combatant and Non-Combatant vessels and oversee all work items, providing status on schedule and cost impacts. Coordinate multiple subcontractors and organic trade activities to meet schedule objectives. Act as the point of contact for assigned work items to customers and represent the company at related government meetings for the assigned availability. Education/Experience (Education/Training)

Typically has a BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Science or related field or AA/AS plus 2 years directly related experience or 6 years directly related experience. Experience and Skills (Required/Preferred)

Minimum of two (2) years as a high performing NASSCO Area Manager I (qualified by at least 2 evaluation cycles with a minimum 4/5 score) or four (4) years of external experience in an equivalent role. Preferred minimum of six (6) years of ship repair experience in a directly related role within a public or private shipyard. Prior US Navy engineering or related military experience may qualify. Knowledge of tools and systems used at NASSCO-Norfolk for managing availabilities and experience managing multiple CMAVs. Minimum six (6) years’ experience managing technical personnel within complex activities or shipboard availabilities. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint within a computer server environment. Experience with Cost Type or Fixed Type contracts. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to create/manage complex work plans and direct multiple subcontractors and personnel as needed. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; able to carry a business rider if necessary for company business. Ability to gain access to Government facilities and obtain a Security clearance after employment. Willingness to work nights and weekends during peak workloads; able to travel and manage ship repair availabilities in remote locations for extended periods. Role is limited to highly proficient staff; potential reclassification to Area Manager I if superior performance is not maintained. Physical and Other Requirements

Carrying, lifting, walking, climbing, pulling, crawling, sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, talking; must be able to go on vessels and work in naval-ship environments. Visual and hearing requirements apply. Must wear personal protective equipment, including a respirator. Working Relationships

Reports to Program Manager or designee. Maintain outsourcing relationships with teaming partners/subcontractors; track milestones and work percent complete. Notify Accounting when work completes for invoicing and payments. Supervisory responsibility for project team members; strong interpersonal skills required. Equal Employment Opportunity
