Job Summary Medical Lab Scientist Microbiology Evening The Medical Laboratory Scientist I (MLS I) may perform waived and non-waived testing. Under general supervision, after successful completion of orientation, training, and competency assessment, the Medical Laboratory Scientist I (MLS I) carries out all policies and performs all tests in accordance with the laboratory's standard operating procedures. Essential Functions (Key Roles & Responsibilities)

Performs qualitative and quantitative tests and procedures using instruments and/or manual methods. Operates all instruments/analyzers according to laboratory policies and procedures. Performs quality control for all reagents and instruments. Responsible for the accuracy, interpretation, and reporting of test results. Participates in QA/QI activities as required. Plans, organizes, and prioritizes work duties to accomplish daily tasks and objectives. Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree Clinical Laboratory Sciences required or Bachelor's Degree Medical Technology required or Bachelor's Degree Laboratory Sciences required Medical Technologist (ASCP) - American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) preferred, eligibility required. Lab experience 1-2 years required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Must have basic understanding of laboratory equipment and its operation, maintenance and repair and analytic techniques. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Must have the ability to pay careful attention to detail. Must be able to perform as a team member. Excellent interpersonal skills.
