Overview

The Medical Dosimetrist functions as an integral member of the Department of Radiation Medicine (or its outreach/affiliates) of the Medical Center. The team provides patient care and supportive services that contribute to patient care outcomes. The Medical Dosimetrist, under the direction of the radiation therapy physicist, is familiar with the geometric characteristics of the radiation equipment and radioactive sources, and has the training and expertise to generate radiation dose distributions and calculations. The position operates and performs quality assurance on the treatment planning computer. Responsibilities

Measure, generate radiation dose distributions and calculations as part of the treatment planning team. Collaborate with the treatment planning team to ensure accurate dose delivery. Perform quality assurance on the treatment planning computer and related systems. Minimum Education

Bachelor\'s Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in science and extensive experience in radiation planning, or registered Radiation Therapist with experience in dosimetry, or a BS in physical or biologic sciences. Proton planning experience preferred. Certified in Medical Dosimetry required, or certification to be completed within two years of hire. Additional Information
