HII Mission Technologies is seeking a JLVC Integration Engineer to support HII Joint Force Integrated Solutions (JFIS) within the Indo-Pacific region, based in Oahu, Hawaii. You will support the development and integration of Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training technologies for multiple DoD customers, aligning with the Joint Staff’s JLVC Modernization efforts.
Responsibilities
Integration & Technical Leadership: Lead the integration of LVC training solutions, utilizing tools such as Wireshark, Redsim, SIMDIS, and JSPA.
Network & Systems Expertise: Coordinate network connectivity and system architecture at delivered sites; understand networking architecture, Linux and Windows operating systems, Cloud enabling architectures, containers/orchestration, TCP/IP, UDP, and distributed simulation protocols (HLA, DIS, TENA, DDS).
Project Management & Collaboration: Serve as the primary integration engineer for projects, manage schedules, coordinate with engineering functions (networks, operations, information assurance, software development), and ensure seamless integration with training environments.
Stakeholder Engagement: Represent DoD customers in interoperability working groups and IPTs, contributing to mission, technology, and training objectives.
Solution Delivery: Lead the delivery, configuration, and deployment of integrated solutions to various DoD customers.
Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the regional SME and engineering point of contact for all JLVC Modernization delivered technologies, supporting the Joint Staff’s technical integration of systems.
Guidance & Support: Use the JLVC Integration Guide (FIG) to advise external simulation/trainer engineers.
Exercise Support: Provide technical leadership during training exercises, act as liaison between customer and engineering/operations, identify and resolve simulation problems, and coordinate corrective actions.
Business Development: Represent JFIS in business development activities to expand work with new and adjacent opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
15 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; 13 years with a Master’s; 10 years with a PhD or Juris Doctorate; or 19 years with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Client Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience: 10+ years in systems integration, network engineering, or simulation environments.
Security Clearance: Must currently hold or be able to maintain a US Secret security clearance.
Deep understanding of distributed simulation concepts.
Proficiency in troubleshooting network and system issues.
Experience with C4I tactical systems (e.g., Link 16, GCCS).
Knowledge of Training Systems: ACTS, BFTT, TSSS, and/or BEWT.
Knowledge of ASW, EW, and/or AAW operations and capabilities.
Familiarization with modern cloud enabling data communications and queuing disciplines (Kafka, AMQP, WebSockets), as well as Docker and Kubernetes.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Linux+, and other relevant certifications (e.g., Cloud certifications) are highly desirable.
