Data centers are Critical Facilities. You will support routine and semi-routine tasks related to customer installations, infrastructure maintenance, and service delivery within the IBX data centers. This role supports the DoD SkillBridge program and links transitioning military personnel with civilian employment opportunities. Responsibilities
Perform site inspections and supervise building and data center alarms. Conduct preventative maintenance on on-site infrastructure or lead vendors. Undertake repairs and corrective maintenance. Maintain knowledge of critical infrastructure (UPS, generator, BMS, chillers, life safety systems). Complete site logs and data collection for basic permits, MOPs, and scripts. Respond to on-site incidents and assist as needed. Complete routine work requests and circuit installations. Support critical maintenance activities and collaborate with teammates; provide recommendations for general maintenance. Carry out basic infrastructure projects. Be flexible to support 24/7 operations and respond to emergencies. Qualifications
Technical associates degree, military-technical school, or civilian technical trade school completion. Education level: Working on bachelor’s degree or relevant experience with 1-4 years in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Comprehensive knowledge of critical infrastructure (UPS, generator, BMS, chillers, life safety systems). Coursework in HVAC design or heat transfer and thermodynamics. Knowledge of HVAC testing and balancing methodologies. Knowledge of IT hardware and data center operations functions. Good time management and ability to multi-task; sustain focus on long tasks. Strong communication skills; ability to present ideas clearly. Initiative, enthusiasm, teamwork, and creativity. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to evolving environments.
