We are accepting applications for the SkillBridge Cohort Class of Q1'2026 supporting the Data Center Critical Facilities Engineer role. Ideal start dates: late February through March. Data centers are critical facilities supporting hospitals, laboratories, and public safety. In this role, you will complete repairs, preventative maintenance, and routine installations of facility infrastructure in an IBX data center environment. Responsibilities

Perform site inspections and supervise building and data center alarms. Conduct preventative maintenance on on-site infrastructure or lead vendors. Undertake repairs and corrective maintenance. Demonstrate extensive knowledge of critical infrastructure such as UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life-safety systems. Complete site logs and data gathering for basic permits, such as MOPs and scripts. Respond to on-site incidents as needed. Complete routine work requests and circuit installations. Assist during critical maintenance activities and collaborate within the department. Carry out basic infrastructure projects. Be flexible to work any assigned shift, including off-schedule coverage and emergencies, as part of a 24/7 operation. Qualifications

Must meet all eligibility requirements outlined by the DoD and NAVADMIN guidelines. Required: Technical associate degree, military-technical school, or civilian technical trade school completion. Education level: Working on bachelor’s degree or relevant experience with 1-4 years in mechanical engineering or related field. Comprehensive knowledge of critical infrastructure (UPS, generator, BMS, chillers, life-safety systems). Coursework in HVAC design, heat transfer, and thermodynamics; knowledge of HVAC testing and balancing methodologies. Knowledge of IT hardware and data center operations functions. Good time management, multi-tasking, and sustained focus on long tasks. Clear communication of technical ideas; initiative, enthusiasm, teamwork, and creativity. Ability to lift 50 lbs and to prioritize effectively in evolving environments. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills for collaboration with colleagues and clients at all levels. *SkillBridge Internship positions are open to active duty and transitioning military members. Pay ranges vary by location and experience. Examples include ranges such as 60,000 - 92,000 USD annually for several U.S. locations and higher in others.
