located in Palmdale, CA, with possible locations in San Diego, CA or El Segundo, CA. This leadership role is within our Advanced Manufacturing Technology organization. Key Responsibilities

Provide organizational and technical leadership across the Autonomous Collaborative Platform (ACP) portfolio. Lead production approaches for intelligent manufacturing, flexible facilities, and low-cost high-rate production. Drive the evolution of production facilities with integrated digital thread, AI, automation, and flexible configurations. Evaluate and implement enabling production technologies (e.g., composites fabrication, assembly, automation, inspection, direct part manufacturing, LO technologies, digital capabilities). Collaborate with consultants, strategic partners, universities, and technical consortiums to evaluate technologies for air vehicle manufacturing at scale and cost. Provide guidance on design concepts, TRL/MRL maturity, and specification requirements to develop affordable manufacturing solutions. Influence product definition and assembly strategy with ACP teams, promoting design for manufacturing, additive manufacturing, unitized composites, and other lower-cost processes. Solve technical challenges in fast-paced, resource-limited manufacturing environments. Develop and refine manufacturing strategies for low-cost high-rate production for air vehicles with emphasis on safety, efficiency, cost, and quality at scale. Integrate novel tooling, fabrication, and assembly solutions; champion modular, flexible tooling and lean, repeatable processes. Design production layouts to support flexible cell-based or continuous flow manufacturing and evaluate cross-program ACP product lines. Create ramp-up plans covering labor, equipment, facilities, and supplier readiness; understand capital investment requirements and timing. Develop manufacturing processes and digital strategies with intuitive work instructions; plan hiring, staffing, and training for new techniques and integrate with operations. Lead a strategic vision for scalable, cost-effective production aligned with business goals; develop roadmaps and conduct gap analyses. Promote deployment of low-cost high-rate manufacturing across global teams. Monitor industry trends and capabilities to maintain technological and cost advantages. Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (STEM) + 8 years related professional/military experience in aviation, systems engineering, aerospace or manufacturing/production OR Master’s Degree (STEM) + 6 years related experience. Minimum 6 years leading tasks on schedule, at cost, and meeting requirements as a project lead, integrated program team lead, or manufacturing manager. Minimum 6 years of demonstrated success leading teams to achieve goals. Active DoD Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required) with ability to obtain/maintain Program Special Access. Ability to travel 20-35% of the time. Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), cross-functional stakeholders, and customers such as the Air Force and Navy. Experience in early development, low-rate initial production, and transition to high delivery rates. Experience in low-cost high-rate manufacturing environments (automotive or aerospace) is highly desired. Proposal experience and experience in other early phases of the program lifecycle. Strong background in technology portfolio management and TRL/MRL advancement; familiarity with DoD MRL Deskbook and Manufacturing Readiness Assessment (MRA). Excellent risk identification and mitigation in aerospace technologies. Experience in Design for Manufacturing methodologies. Experience developing flexible factories and rapid technology implementation. Experience developing and deploying AI tools for production environments. Experience developing and deploying digital thread/twin or other data integration/prescriptive tools. Experience developing and deploying automation. Experience with composites unitization, bonded composite assemblies, and determinant assembly techniques. Compensation and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $187,000.00 - $280,600.00. Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope, responsibilities, candidate experience and market conditions when determining base salary offers. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply; long-term incentives possible for certain roles. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, holidays, and PTO.
