Overview
Stanford University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the field of Environmental Behavioral Sciences within the Department of Environmental Social Sciences. The scope of the search is broad, and we welcome applications from candidates involved in any aspect of the study of human behavior, human ecology, or human institutions as they pertain to sustainability, climate change, adaptation, or resilience. We are particularly interested in scholars working in the structural social sciences, including topics such as social movements, organizations/networks, collective action, political economy, population science. We are also interested in applicants who could teach computational social science for sustainability. The Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability is an interdisciplinary, mission-driven school and we seek scholars who are comfortable forging collaborations across disciplines and departments. Candidates must possess a PhD, JD, or terminal degree in a field relevant to the search by the time of the appointment, an excellent record of scholarly work, and a dedication to teaching. The search welcomes applicants from any area relating to human behavior, human ecology, or human institutions as they pertain to sustainability, climate change, adaptation, or resilience. The school is interested in scholars across the structural social sciences and may include teaching computational social science for sustainability.
