Direct Hire Must Haves: A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, with a strong background in
masonry. masonry restoration, concrete. Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Stratosphere. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen eye for detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to travel to project sites as needed. Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards. Plusses: Experience working for a large General Contractor Day-to-Day: Our client is looking to bring a Construction Estimator in Washington, D.C. This individual will be responsible for: Prepare detailed cost estimates for various construction projects, including but not limited to commercial, residential, and infrastructure developments. Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to gain a comprehensive understanding of the project scope. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather relevant cost information and clarify project requirements. Conduct market research to stay informed about pricing trends, materials, and labor costs in the industry. Prepare bid proposals and presentation materials for clients, highlighting our capabilities and value proposition. Review and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring that all estimates are competitive and accurate. Assist in project budgeting and cost control throughout the construction process. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators and support their professional development.
