Temporary Pitches & Proposals Specialist Overview

Fenwick is seeking a Temporary Specialist to support the firm’s Pitch & Proposal team. The role focuses on preparing targeted and strategic client pitch materials, RFP responses, and other high-impact proposals that showcase the firm’s expertise in technology and life sciences. The Specialist will collaborate with partners and marketing colleagues to deliver polished, persuasive, and effective pitch and proposal content that drives revenue growth. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, take initiative, and work independently. This is a full-time exempt position and can be based in any U.S. office location with some remote options. For office-based candidates, a hybrid work arrangement is available, with in-office frequency determined by business needs and department directives.

Responsibilities

Partner with attorneys and BD leadership to strategize, draft, and customize responses to RFPs, RFIs, and pitch opportunities.

Leverage the firm’s experience database and matter summaries to craft client-focused narratives and case studies.

Ensure all proposal materials are consistent with firm brand standards, messaging, and voice.

Conduct initial research on prospective clients to inform proposal strategy and positioning.

Track, manage, and report on proposal activity, success metrics, and win/loss outcomes.

Assist in debriefs/postmortems with attorneys to assess proposal effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.

Maintain and update firm-wide pitch templates, attorney biographies, practice descriptions, and relevant marketing collateral.

Manage experience management systems, CRM (Salesforce), and client list updates related to pitch activities.

Coordinate with Recruiting, Communications, and Events teams to incorporate current firm highlights into pitch content.

Qualifications

Demonstrated track record in preparing proposals, RFP responses, and pitch materials for high-value clients.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) with strong PowerPoint skills for designing pitch materials.

CRM database experience (Salesforce preferred).

Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into client-friendly language.

Strong attention to detail with superior proofreading and fact-checking abilities.

Customer service orientation and strong interpersonal skills, able to work with partners, marketing staff, and other departments.

Strategic thinker with ability to adapt messaging to client needs and market trends.

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Team player with a proactive, self-starting work ethic.

5+ years of experience in a marketing or business development role within the legal industry; Bachelor’s degree required.

Benefits and Compensation The anticipated range for this position is $84,000 - $120,000. A discretionary bonus may be available based on performance. Benefits include healthcare, life insurance, Health Savings Accounts, Flexible Spending Accounts, and wellbeing programs. Actual base salary offered depends on factors such as experience, education, location, and other applicable qualifications. Additional information about benefits and discretionary bonuses will be provided upon request.

Location: Boston, MA or other Fenwick U.S. office locations with hybrid work options.
