Design Manager, GS-08XX-13 (30033) at US Army Corps of Engineers. The Hydroelectric Design Center (HDC) is the Corps of Engineers\' National Center for Expertise in hydroelectric and large pumping plant engineering services. HDC delivers quality products and innovative solutions in hydropower by providing product coordination, economic analysis and evaluation, electrical engineering, and mechanical and structural engineering and planning for all powerhouses and pumping stations across the Corps. NOTE: This position is part of a (Hydro)Power Special Salary Rate. Applicants who meet requirements will be placed on a Special Salary Table. Key Duties

Provide extensive coordination, planning, scope, schedule and budget development, as well reporting on project status for a variety of engineering tasks related to hydropower projects throughout the United States. Manage large, multiple, multi-faceted project assignments of significant depth and complexity. Apply knowledge of project management concepts, principles, methods and processes to a broad range of engineering and science disciplines associated with hydropower. Development of Memorandums of Agreement (MOA) and Understanding (MOU), scopes of work and resourcing plans. Quality assurance of HDC and National Standards as well as customer expectations. Review of changes in scopes, with resultant effect on schedules, budgets and resources. Determination of project responsibilities and expectations. Other Conditions and Requirements

This job opportunity is open to CURRENT, PERMANENT USACE EMPLOYEES ONLY. This opportunity is being announced through the USACE Voluntary Internal Opportunities Program (VIOP). Minimum Education/Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes working with a multi-disciplinary design team on hydroelectric engineering design projects including developing the scope, schedule, and budget (SSB), creating memorandums of understanding, and quality control plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time. The incumbent is required to file an OGE Form 450, Financial Disclosure Report upon entering on duty in this position and annually thereafter. This position requires that the incumbent posses or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver\'s License in one of the 50 U.S. states.
