Position Title: Reassignment - Regulatory Section Chief, GS-0401/0819-13 (02165), Supervisory Duty Location(s): Ft. Myers, FL Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Permit Section workforce, fostering diversity, equity, and professional development. Align section goals and operations with District, Division, and Branch strategic objectives. Supervise staff: set performance standards, evaluate work, mentor, and address employee relations issues, performance and conduct. Manage budgets and resources, ensuring cost-effective operations, accountability, and readiness for workload shifts or emergencies. Direct execution of the Corps’ regulatory program, interpreting and applying laws, policies, and procedures. Oversee complex, high-visibility permit decisions involving aquatic resources, wetlands, and public interest considerations. Represent the Corps in negotiations and communications with federal/state/local agencies, Congress, stakeholders, and the public. Train, guide, and develop staff expertise in regulatory program implementation and technical matters. Specialized Experience

Experience leading and managing a diverse regulatory workforce, ensuring recruitment, training, mentoring, and performance management aligned with merit principles. Directed operations of a permit section, aligning long-term goals with District and Division objectives, with effective budget development, execution, and internal controls. Provided technical oversight of the Regulatory Program, interpreting laws, regulations, and policies to ensure compliance across complex projects affecting aquatic resources, wetlands, and public interests. Exercised supervisory authority over performance standards, staff development, and employee relations. Managed workload priorities, emergencies response, and resource balance between environmental protection and social/economic considerations. Represented the Corps in high-level negotiations with applicants and government stakeholders. Fostered innovation, integrated new technology, and established internal controls to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse. Other Conditions and Requirements
