Campus Director of Curriculum and Instruction (DCI) GRADE LEVEL:

$72,000-$87,000 based on years of aligned experience, up to 10 years. Relocation stipend available for joining from 75 miles or more from Denver. STATUS:

The Director of Curriculum and Instruction (DCI) is the leader of coaching for the teachers at their school site. They are responsible for coaching and managing people to achieve excellent academic outcomes for all students. The DCI, in partnership with the School Leadership Team, is responsible for the school’s results. The DCI coaches and manages 12-15 teachers, but may vary by campus and need. Responsibilities by area
Leadership
DSST Mission-Driven: Demonstrate urgency about achievement for ALL students and preparing every student for post-secondary success Pursue solutions with tenacity to maximize student achievement Model professional maturity; emotional constancy in stressful situations; motivate and support others Coach & develop staff to achieve excellent academic outcomes Lead consistent, high-quality coaching aligned with DSST’s coaching vision
Curriculum
Plan with teachers for year-long courses using DSST pacing calendars, unit plans, and daily lesson materials aligned to college readiness standards and benchmark assessments Develop teachers to implement DSST curriculum Facilitate Lesson Internalization Coaching Meetings to develop instructional practice within the curriculum
Instruction
Observe and evaluate classroom practice weekly for those coached, using DSST’s Essentials for Effective Teaching Rubric Use centralized coaching tools to track coaching meetings, observations, and action steps Ensure course content prepares students for a high school college preparatory program Facilitate Practice Clinics & Real Time Coaching to develop teacher practice
Assessment
Create and maintain school, grade-level, and teacher-level student academic and assessment records Lead the school’s assessment program, including testing schedules and staff training, upholding district and state requirements
Data
Develop teachers in regular analysis and action planning in response to data Monitor overall school data and progress toward goals Make data-informed decisions for school and staff
Professional Learning
Develop and execute the Professional Learning vision; lead objective-aligned, engaging PD grounded in adult learning theory Identify and arrange staff development opportunities related to core instructional practices and assessments Manage staff meetings and Professional Learning Days
Additional Duties
Build relationships with teachers and administrators to positively impact culture and results Co-manage department chairs for effective departmental outcomes Recruit and hire school faculty Engage prospective families to recruit students; support recruitment as needed Collaborate with DSST Home Office to create network-wide standards, curriculum, and assessment documents Support network-wide teacher professional development Serve as a core member of the Instructional Leadership Team Participate in DSST’s Instructional Leadership Development program If applicable, teach courses and/or advise students
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required At least 3 years of 6th-12th grade teaching experience Demonstrated ability to coach, manage and lead adults to successful outcomes Belief that all students can succeed in high school and reach ambitious post-secondary goals Desire to grow as an anti-racist educator Self-awareness and a habit of reflection with a drive for continuous improvement Ideal Qualifications
