$72,000–$87,000 based on years of aligned experience up to 10 years. Relocation stipend available for candidates joining from 75 miles or more from Denver. Reports to:

Key Roles & Responsibilities

In partnership with the School Leadership Team, ensure all students, including those with unique learning needs or who are performing below grade level, make strong academic growth. Coach and manage teachers to ensure student success; lead on vision, goals, and strategy for Special Education, MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support), and Intervention at the school. Establish an inclusive school environment and support the organization’s belief in recognizing each student’s unique contribution. Curriculum: collaborate with teachers and the School Leadership Team to ensure access to grade-level standards through differentiated DSST curriculum materials (assessments, plans, data tracking); ensure appropriate curriculum during Intervention and Special Education pull-out. Instruction: observe and evaluate teachers; lead the Special Education Team in implementing the continuum of services (inclusion, co-teaching, pull-out, center programs); ensure accommodations in IEPs and 504 plans. Assessment & Data: coordinate with teachers, SAL and the Leadership Team to implement appropriate accommodations per IEPs/504s; support data analysis for coaching and schoolwide progress; manage MTSS teams and monitor performance data and responses to intervention. Professional Learning: develop and deliver professional learning focused on diverse learners; guide building leadership on effective instructional approaches. Additional Duties: build strong relationships, recruit and hire faculty, collaborate with DSST Home Office on network-wide curriculum and strategies, manage Special Education Coordinator and 504 Coordinator to meet compliance deadlines, address family/advocate concerns, teach a course if applicable, participate in DSST professional learning, and assist with recruitment to attract families to DSST schools.

Minimum Qualifications

Special Education license is required to lead and support the Special Education team; may carry a small IEP caseload. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university required. At least 3 years teaching experience required. At least 2 years in a school or adult leadership position required. Demonstrated ability to coach, manage and lead adults to successful outcomes.
