This position is located at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital San Ramon. Under the direction of a technical supervisor, the ARRT certified, California-licensed technologist performs radiologic procedures in assigned areas at a safe and technical level not requiring constant supervision. The technologist will perform safe imaging procedures on all emergent, inpatient, and outpatient age-specific populations. Diagnostic procedures include, but are not limited to, basic radiographic exams using fixed and portable imaging equipment in various settings such as Outpatient/Inpatient, OR/Hybrid, ER, fluoro, and Endoscopy. In addition, competency in advanced procedures such as arthograms, myelograms, kyphoplasty, XLIFS, ESWL, ERCP's, HSG's, PNL's, Scoliosis imaging, and O-Ring and OR Vascular procedures must be maintained on an annual basis. The technologist will perform various radiographic exams and process images on various archival systems. They are professionally accountable for submitting high-quality images to PACS. They participate in performance improvement activities in the department and demonstrate excellent customer service to patients. They correctly identify patients for the procedures performed and their respective images, follow Infection Control policies, radiation policies, and good body mechanics, and maintain appropriate continuing education credits. Requirements include ARRT, CRT, and California fluoroscopy license. New hires must not perform any radiology procedures until they receive their license (CRT) from the State of California. New hires may begin their orientation to the department, observe procedures, and assist during this time period, which is not to exceed 6 months. New hires must receive their California fluoroscopy license within the first 6 months of employment or probationary period. Depending on department needs, this position may require weekday, weekend, or holiday call. Per diem employees must work at least an average of four shifts per month to maintain equipment and procedure competencies and per diem eligibility. The salary range for this position is $69.55 - $86.47 (hourly rate). Placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors, including work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.
