GeoSpatios
About GeoSpatios
At GeoSpatios, we believe airspace operations shouldn’t be held back by decades-old, fragmented software. We’re rebuilding that foundation from the ground up. Our AI-native operating system for aviation features an autonomous coordinator that transforms decision-making for airlines and flight operators. By leveraging Agentic AI, real-time data, and a data-first architecture, we compress processes that once took 45 minutes into decisions made in under 10 seconds. We’re a venture-backed startup based in Palo Alto with a small, ambitious team tackling one of aerospace’s hardest and most impactful challenges. If you’re excited by the idea of shaping mission-critical infrastructure for global aviation, this is your opportunity to join at the earliest stage and directly influence how the world flies.
About the Role
We’re looking for a
Founding Mobile Engineer
to build the next generation of
Electronic Flight Bag (EFB)
used by pilots and operations teams. This is a rare opportunity to own the mobile strategy and architecture of a mission-critical aviation platform from day one.
You’ll design and deliver real-time, geospatially rich mobile experiences that integrate deeply with our AI coordinator and backend systems. Your work will enable operators to plan, coordinate, and execute flights with unprecedented speed and intelligence — online and offline, in the air and on the ground.
Responsibilities
Architect and build
production-grade mobile applications for pilots — from flight planning and coordination tools to real-time decision support interfaces.
Design offline-first experiences
with robust caching and data sync to ensure reliability in low-connectivity environments.
Integrate with agentic AI workflows
and real-time backend systems to deliver context-aware, adaptive mobile features.
Implement advanced geospatial features
— including layered maps, live data overlays, and custom visualizations — leveraging SDKs like Mapbox.
Own mobile app architecture and patterns , from navigation and state management to build pipelines and release tooling.
Collaborate closely
with backend, AI, and product teams to shape product direction and deliver seamless, end-to-end user experiences.
Continuously
optimize performance, UX, and reliability
for operationally critical use cases.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience building and shipping mobile applications in production.
Proficiency with
Swift/SwiftUI
or
cross-platform frameworks
like
React Native
or
Ionic .
Strong understanding of mobile architecture, modularization, and performance optimization.
Experience with
real-time data integration
(WebSockets, push updates) and
REST/GraphQL APIs .
Familiarity with
offline-first design , local storage strategies, and background sync.
Experience with
Mapbox SDK , Deck GL, or other geospatial visualization libraries on mobile.
Comfort working with modern
CI/CD pipelines , testing frameworks, and release automation.
Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and ability to thrive in fast-paced zero-to-one environments.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
You might thrive in this role if you…
Want to define the
mobile foundation of mission-critical aviation software
used by professionals daily.
Care deeply about
performance, reliability, and user experience
in real-world, high-stakes contexts.
Enjoy solving complex challenges around
geospatial data, real-time systems, and AI-driven workflows .
Are excited by the autonomy and impact that come with being an early engineer on a category-defining platform.
Nice to Have
Background in
aviation, aerospace, autonomy, or logistics
systems.
Experience building
real-time or event-driven
mobile applications.
Contributions to open-source mobile or geospatial projects.
Pilot license (Part 61/91/135/141) or drone certification.
