Senior Fund Accountant – Greater Boston, MA (Hybrid/On-Site) • Private Equity / Asset Management • Mid-Level (3-4 Years). We are a dynamic and growing private equity asset management firm based in the Greater Boston area, seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to join our finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with investment professionals and senior leadership in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for private equity funds and related entities (e.g., GP, LP, co-investment vehicles). Assist in managing the annual audit process, including liaising with external auditors and preparing supporting documentation. Perform capital call and distribution calculations and investor allocations. Review and reconcile fund bank accounts and investment activity. Assist with portfolio company transaction accounting and monitoring investment performance. Maintain and improve internal controls and operational processes related to fund accounting. Support investor reporting, including capital account statements and ad-hoc data requests. Collaborate with legal, compliance, and operations teams to support fund structuring and regulatory filings. Work with third-party administrators and service providers as necessary. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA-track preferred. 3-4 years of relevant experience , ideally in: Public accounting (Big 4 or mid-tier firms), preferably with clients in private equity or alternative investments, or In-house fund accounting experience within a private equity, venture capital, or similar asset management environment. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and investment partnership accounting. Experience with waterfall models, carried interest, and capital allocations is a plus. High proficiency in Excel; experience with accounting systems (e.g., Investran, eFront, or similar) a plus. Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
