$89,536-$111,395 annually, depending on relevant experience. MISSION STATEMENT The Colorado Supreme Court’s Office of Attorney Registration and Continuing Legal and Judicial Education seeks applications for the position of Deputy Director. The Deputy Director is the second-in-command of the Office of Attorney Registration and Continuing Legal and Judicial Education (CLE) in the regulation of attorneys and Licensed Legal Paraprofessionals (LLPs) admitted to practice law in the State of Colorado and is an integral part of the overall leadership and administration of the operations of the Office. The Deputy Director becomes fully knowledgeable about every aspect of annual registration and CLE compliance of attorneys and LLPs as well as accreditation of CLE activities, and develops the management, interpersonal and technical skills necessary to oversee the work of others on this team. Essential Functions: The Deputy Director thrives on being an analytical thinker, detail-oriented, consistently busy, effective at managing multiple priorities through disruptions, is comfortable with handling high levels of financial transactions, and a problem-solver. Reports To: The work is conducted under the supervision of the Attorney Regulation Counsel, Chief Deputy Regulation Counsel, Deputy Regulation Counsel and the Office Director, in accordance with the Colorado Supreme Court’s Attorney and LLP Registration rules, Admissions’ rules, and CLE rules of the Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure and Office policy. Skills: Demonstrated ability and skills to develop expertise regarding rules, procedures and data systems in a high-volume work environment. Demonstrated ability and skills to develop strong working relationships and leadership skills while learning technical information and procedures pertaining to numerous Office functions. Specialized Knowledge: Knowledge of state laws and court rules applicable to attorney and LLP admissions, as well as knowledge of the Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure, Professional Conduct and the Colorado Rules of Judicial Conduct, and the ability to recognize any legal issues that may arise in the course of performing duties. Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree. A master's degree, Juris Doctorate, or specialized paralegal or compliance certifications are strongly preferred and considered a significant advantage. Fifteen years of professional, administrative, supervisory, or management experience is required.
