Job Overview The Director, Media Strategy & Integrated Planning partners with the Senior Director to lead the development of seasonal integrated media plans (Spring, Summer, Fall, Holiday). They develop innovative media strategies that align objectives, business priorities, media mix, and activation plans with customer strategy and company goals. They drive the tactical planning of weekly and monthly media aligned to business priorities and sales plans. The Director increases campaign and media productivity through ongoing optimizations, brand analytics, and campaign measurement. What You Will Do
Serve as the senior point of contact and subject matter expert for multi-million-dollar integrated media plans for each campaign season. Define campaign objectives, strategies, messaging, and audience targeting based on insights and past campaign performance. Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams and agency partners to develop holistic strategies and activation plans that align with business priorities. Establish measurement frameworks with clear objectives, goals, and KPIs to demonstrate impact. Communicate and tailor the media vision to diverse stakeholders and teams, adapting messaging to meet the specific needs of each audience. Identify and articulate key industry trends, customer insights, category dynamics, and macroeconomic factors that should inform media recommendations. Use owned and licensed research and measurement tools (e.g., brand analytics, MRI, customer insights, Adobe Analytics, Media Mix Modeling) to optimize campaign performance. Champion innovation and lead change in a motivating and inspiring way to drive meaningful business outcomes. Manage a team of direct reports; hire and retain top talent while providing mentorship, development, and clear career progression opportunities. Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities. Skills You Will Need Media Strategy Development : Deep expertise in developing full-funnel, integrated media strategies that align with business goals. Business Acumen : Strong understanding of business priorities and ability to translate them into actionable media plans. Data Analysis & Storytelling : Proficient in interpreting campaign data, drawing insights, and crafting persuasive narratives for senior leadership. Campaign Measurement : Skilled in using analytics and measurement tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Media Mix Modeling, brand analytics) to assess performance and optimize campaigns. People Leadership : Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team, with a focus on attracting and retaining top talent. Change Leadership : Ability to champion innovation, inspire others, and lead teams through evolving business needs. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Experience partnering across internal teams (product, analytics, creative) and with external agencies. Influence & Persuasion : Strong communication skills with the ability to advocate for media strategies and build consensus with diverse stakeholders. Stakeholder Management : Skilled at adapting communication for different audiences, from creatives to executives. Media Process Mastery : Strong grasp of media workflows, planning cycles, and execution processes. Project Management : Ability to manage multiple campaigns and initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Problem-Solving : Proactive in identifying challenges early and implementing effective solutions. Ecommerce Fluency : Baseline understanding of ecommerce operations, site taxonomy, digital team structures, and marketplace media ecosystems. Who You Are
Candidates with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. MBA preferred. 10+ years of experience developing large-scale brand communication, media strategy, and activation plans. Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
