Jobe Materials, L.P. ("Jobe Materials") is seeking an Assistant General Counsel. Jobe Materials is a family-owned ready-mix concrete, asphalt, and construction aggregates supplier operating in West Texas and Southern New Mexico with over 700 employees. The company also manufactures precast and prestressed concrete products and operates three railyards that provide track space for transloading activities and railcar storage. Salary range will be based on experience. Position Description

The Assistant General Counsel will report to, support, and provide legal advice to the company’s General Counsel, Senior General Counsel, the company’s General Partner, and company employees. Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and revising a variety of legal documents (e.g., construction materials supply contracts, real estate leases, and purchase agreements). The role also involves ensuring regulatory compliance and minimizing legal risk related to claims, disputes, litigation, and personnel matters. A variety of other legal and non-legal tasks may be assigned based on abilities and changing company needs. Responsibilities

Draft, review, and revise a variety of legal documents, including construction materials supply contracts, real estate leases, and purchase agreements. Provide legal advice and support to the General Counsel, Senior General Counsel, the General Partner, and company employees. Ensure compliance with regulatory entities and minimize legal risk related to claims, disputes, litigation, and personnel matters. Handle a variety of other legal and non-legal tasks as assigned based on needs and abilities. Qualifications and Requirements

Undergraduate degree and a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school. Licensed to practice law in Texas or New Mexico; if not licensed in both states, must become licensed in the second state within six months of employment. At least five years of legal practice experience, in private practice or in-house, with essential experience in: construction transactions; real estate transactions; regulatory compliance; commercial transactions. Experience in construction litigation or labor and employment law is preferred but not required. Ability to understand and interpret surveys and plat maps. Ability to identify business and compliance issues quickly and develop appropriate action plans. Strong understanding of legal and business confidentiality considerations. Knowledge of the West Texas and Southern New Mexico construction industry or construction field experience is beneficial. Ability to balance legal concerns with business considerations. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Bilingual skills are preferred but not required. Valid Driver’s License is required.
