Data Scientist Senior with Security Clearance
The Senior Data Scientist will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) - Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement & Removal Operations (ERO), Law Enforcement Systems and Analysis (LESA) division, and be responsible for developing ERO strategies to enhance its business procedures continuously. The Senior Data Scientist provides advanced analytics, data quality monitoring, predictive modeling, and reporting expertise to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Law Enforcement Systems and Analysis (LESA) Division. This role supports the STU Unit by developing and validating methodologies, ensuring data integrity, streamlining reporting processes, and enhancing decision-making capabilities across ERO and DHS stakeholders. The Data Scientist also ensures compliance with staffing, onboarding, and reporting requirements while delivering actionable insights to federal leadership. This contract is pending Award. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Clearance Required: Able to obtain ICE 6C/Full Background Investigation (BI) level or higher clearances. Responsibilities: Conduct advanced analytics, modeling, and forecasting related to immigration and law enforcement activities Conduct research and prepare management, organizational and business analyses and forecasts Larger, more complex or technically advanced projects, and may be responsible for tasks among multiple projects Conceptualize, plan, design, and develop deep learning and artificial intelligence algorithms for multi-objective optimization and decision-making tools focused on solving resource allocation and prioritization problems Lead and independently execute complex projects and mission-critical tasks using federal government categorical data from flat files, data warehouses, and external sources Apply appropriate methods in order to mathematically formulate and examine statistical associations between variables within a data set using R or Python Produce executive level summary reports/briefings of algorithm results using RMarkdown or Jupyter Notebook May be responsible for leading less experienced analysts Utilize MS Access to perform queries and analyses Utilize MS Excel to perform analyses to produce reports Utilize MS PowerPoint to produce reports Utilize MS Word to produce reports Utilize R (COT statistical analysis program) to perform analyses Qualifications: MA, MS, or PhD At least ten (10) years of experience as a data scientist or machine learning engineer Extensive experience with R, Python, and AI/ML libraries Proven record of delivering analytics and forecasting in federal and law enforcement sectors Familiar with libraries like h2o, Keras, mlr in R, and TensorFlow, PyTorch, mpi4py in Python Skilled in Data Analysis Epicycle, MCA, PCA, and association rule mining Capable of developing algorithms in HPC using multi-core desktops and Microsoft MPI Proficient in MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for data analysis, reporting, presentations, and documentation. Experienced with R (COT) for various analyses Experience implementing the following libraries in R: h2o, Keras and mlr; and/or the following libraries in Python: TensorFlow, PyTorch and mpi4py Experience implementing the Data Analysis Epicycle and skilled in performing multiple correspondence analysis (MCA), principal component analysis (PCA), and association rule mining Ability to develop algorithms in a High-Performance Computing (HPC) environment using custom multi-core desktop computers and Microsoft MPI Experience implementing deep and/or machine learning, or artificial intelligence (AI) projects in a High-Performance Computing (HPC) environment Experience working with federal government categorical data from flat files, data warehouses, and external/academic sources Experience as a data scientist and/or machine learning engineer Experience demonstrating how to apply appropriate methods to mathematically formulate and analyze statistical relationships between variables within a dataset using R or Python Experience in AI projects within a High-Performance Computing (HPC) environment, involved in developing AI/ML models, as well as overseeing statistical analysis and reporting Mayvin is proud to support the national security mission of the United States through exceptional service to the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, and Justice.
