Network Engineer Level II position at Nalu Federal. Nalu Federal is a subsidiary of the Kanaka Foundation, an NHO whose mission is to support Native Hawaiians. Responsibilities
Functional Responsibility: Design, test, upgrade and integrate new or existing information networks such as LAN, WLAN, WAN, intranets, extranets, and other networks in accordance with the organization's business requirements. Document all aspects of the engineering process related to build, configuration, testing, and deployment of networks. Coordinate changes such as new network implementations, upgrades or version increments with network administrators and stakeholders. Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard networks. Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning. Evaluate new and emerging network technologies and make recommendations. Assist network administrators with complex troubleshooting and, if needed, coordinate vendor engagements. May provide day-to-day operational or administrative duties for deployed networks in lab or production environments. Apply fundamental engineering concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments. Collaborate with other senior technical and user staff to complete projects. Provide after-hours on-call and downtime support on a rotational basis. May be required to work on feet for extended periods and install network equipment; must be able to lift 40 pounds. May require use of ladders up to 10 feet in height. Fiber and copper cabling support for designated areas and renovations as requested by leadership. Qualifications
Preferred Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent experience. Experience: Four (4) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required capabilities. Degree/Education: Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience. Certifications/Designations: Role Designation – Network Engineer Level II; IT Security Designation – ADP/IT-II; Investigation Required – Tier 3 (T3); IA Technical/Management Designation – IAT II and CE; DoD 8570.01-M certificate requirement applies for commercial (Baseline) certificates; CE: Professional (or expert) level certificate for supported technology as approved by the COR.
