The Anesthesia Technician assists anesthesiologist by setting up equipment and preparing medications. Additionally, the incumbent orders, stocks, tests, and maintains anesthesia supplies, medications, and equipment. The Anesthesia Technician also washes and sterilizes reusable equipment and reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel.
Core Job Functions
Cleans, organizes, and maintains anesthesia workroom, supplies, and equipment.
Prepares and maintains patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems pre, intra, and post anesthesia.
Takes into consideration age-specific issues to meet the needs of the various patient groups.
Maintains quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Documents and maintains preventative maintenance and quality records.
Assists with transport of patients and laboratory specimens.
Participates in multidisciplinary rounds and meetings, and in-services.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
