Nuvance Health Description Nuclear Medicine Technologist - PRN - Opportunity at the New Milford Hospital Role Come join our growing and dynamic team as we provide best-in-class patient care at the NMH. This is a union role, requiring only 2 shifts per month. All you need is: Certified Nuclear Medicine Tech -- Nuclear Medicine Registry Eligible. Experience in PET/CT scanning preferred Graduate of accredited Nuclear Medicine Program Pay for PRN is $54.73 + shift differentials/hour. Summary Utilizes radiopharmaceuticals and related instruments to measure the concentration in various organ systems for the diagnosis and treatment of specific pathological disorders. This position mandates that this technologist be credentialed as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. In addition, this position will be split between Danbury Hospital, Danbury Hospital Medical Arts Center (DHMAC), and New Milford Hospital. Responsibilities Performs all Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT procedures including general and cardiac imaging procedures, wet lab procedures, and computer analysis. Uses proper and efficient patient positioning and imaging. Communicates with radiologists and fellow technologists. Performs all Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT procedures and accurately calculates results. Patient Care/Safety and Communication: Screens patient for contraindications to exam, checks for special instructions and correct examination. Pleasantly greets patients, introduces self to patient, and properly identifies patient. Explains procedure to patient. Properly monitors patient throughout procedure and provides efficient, compassionate patient care. Performs daily QC of all equipment and reports negative findings to supervisor or RSO. Completes daily, weekly, quarterly, and yearly equipment QA and QC procedures. Notifies vendor of any equipment problems and notifies supervisor of service calls and repairs. Radiopharmaceutical order, receipt, preparation, administration, and handling; Stock and Inventory: Properly receives, prepares, and documents radiopharmaceutical information. Administers and documents radiopharmaceutical information. Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies of drugs and radiopharmaceuticals. Obtains and completes patient clinical history as it pertains to Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT exam. Completes all clerical records. Documents exam information record logs and completes patient dose log. Performs office procedures in absence of clerical support. Attends staff meetings, in-service programs, and orients new staff on request. Maintains CPR, RTN, or CNMT Certification. Maintains appropriate level of CE credits for ARRT and ACR Nuclear Medicine Certification. Aids in maintaining a clean and contamination-free department. Performs weekly wipe tests. Performs monthly Environmental Rounds. Abides by all NRC, DPH, DEEP, and TJC hospital and department rules and regulations. Adheres to ALARA and radiation safety rules & regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. Other Information Certified Nuclear Medicine Tech Experience in PET/CT scanning preferred Graduate of accredited Nuclear Medicine Program Nuclear Medicine Registry Eligible. Working Conditions Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity. Occupational: Significant occupational risk. Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force. Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
