Clinical Pharmacy Specialist - NICU- $20,000 Sign on Bonus
Join Children's National Hospital as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in the NICU department, with a sign-on bonus of $20,000. The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will serve as the representative of pharmacy in all aspects of care provided by the pharmacy department. Responsibilities include review of pharmacy and organizational policies, oversight of formulary management, and provision of drug-related education. The specialist will also work closely with other hospital departments to evaluate and modify pharmacy services and assist in training clinical staff and learners. Qualifications for this role include a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, at least one year of pharmacy experience in a pediatric or academic setting, and licensure in the District of Columbia. Required certifications include Board Certified Pharmacist (BPS) within one year of hire. The specialist will be responsible for various functional accountabilities, including order processing and accreditation readiness, interventions and documentation, staff development and training, clinical services, quality improvement, and professional development. Specific responsibilities include interpreting medication orders, overseeing packaging and distribution of medications, performing drug therapy monitoring, and documenting interventions. The specialist will also participate in quality improvement initiatives, contribute to research initiatives, and attend conferences and seminars for professional development. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and quality care. Children's National Hospital offers a competitive salary range of $115,731.20 to $192,878.40 per year, depending on experience.
