Base pay range
$95,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr Key Responsibilities
Investment Accounting & Reporting Prepare journal entries for investment activity, including contributions, distributions, gains/losses, and transfers; maintain detailed roll-forward schedules to track monthly activity. Calculate the net asset value (NAV) of the portfolio, including investments. Manage cash transfers to investment managers for new contributions and interest earned, ensuring compliance with spending policy. Calculate and monitor historical investment returns across the portfolio. Participate in month-end close by preparing entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate reporting in the general ledger. Assist in financial statement preparation, including flux analysis and cash flow reporting. Tax Compliance Lead planning, preparation, and review of Form 990 and 990-T, along with unrelated business income tax returns across 20+ states, in compliance with applicable regulations. Partner with internal teams to compile and analyze financial transactions, leveraging enterprise systems to generate accurate and efficient tax schedules. Ensure timely tax payments to regulatory agencies and maintain detailed records for reporting and monitoring. Review, research, and resolve notices from tax authorities; organize and maintain historical records. Conduct tax research as needed and present findings to management. Act as the primary liaison with external tax consultants during annual 990 preparation. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum 3 years of public accounting or private industry experience, preferably in a not-for-profit environment. Background in investment, fund, or endowment accounting is highly desirable. Experience in tax compliance; nonprofit industry experience preferred. Familiarity with enterprise systems (SAP/Oracle); proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-lookup, pivot tables) and Google Workspace. Seniority level
