Digital Cloud Solution Architect

is part of the Global SMB segment, working primarily with digital natives, enterprises, and small businesses that maintain a direct relationship with Microsoft. Success is measured by net-new revenue contribution and workload adoption and expansion across the assigned portfolio. Sales Customer Engagements: Proactively engages with customer technical decision makers and influencers to support digital transformation, challenge customers when necessary, and help position architectures. Keeps up to date with customer information, industry trends, and compliance regulations. Build credibility with customers using deep technical, market, and portfolio knowledge; engage individually or at scale. Leads technical wins for core and adjacent technologies by guiding technical discussions, defining engagement rules, and collaborating with extended teams and partners; sources customer references for engagements. Leverages available resources (roles, Microsoft Technology Center, demos, virtual sites) and proactively involves product/support teams to address blockers and convey impact. Supports resource prioritization to maximize selling time and achieve scorecard objectives and subsidiary strategy as directed. Scale & Collaboration

Captures competitive knowledge and shares insights with product and engineering teams to enhance capabilities and strategy. Customizes demonstrations and oversees Architectural Design Sessions and Proofs of Concept sessions across Microsoft products during initial engagements. Monitors action plans to promote usage of key Microsoft solutions aligned to customer outcomes and identifies opportunities to expand usage. Orchestrates internal stakeholders and expands partner relationships to proactively drive deal closure. Architecture Design and Deployment

Receives and synthesizes customer/partner requirements, designs technical architectures, and demonstrates value through collaborative design sessions. Drives pilots, POCs, and value realization across technology areas, moving customers from pilots to production deployments. Leverages growth levers (e.g., Azure credits) to ensure successful POC adoption. Leads customer/partner projects implementing technical architectures; provides thought leadership for architecture design, development, and deployment. Identifies and escalates blockers; routes non-technical issues for resolution and minimizes business/technical risks through governance and defined success criteria. Driving Customer Success

Builds customer timelines and governance with partners to align with digital transformation initiatives and expands customer success coverage. Acts as the Voice of the Customer to feed feedback to product teams and shape products and services. Identifies gaps and drives new workloads by communicating financial value and collaborating with the sales team. Connects customers with ideas, people, and resources to support opportunities; fosters Microsoft as a valued partner and aligns cloud solutions with future needs. Drives new workloads with sales by leading demand generation and holding peer teams accountable to milestones; promotes a One Microsoft mindset. Technical Leadership

Develops a readiness plan, expands domain knowledge, and shares technical input to grow architecture capabilities. Provides thought leadership and acts as a role model for the architect community; shares knowledge to improve skills and business outcomes. Mentors others through community involvement and internal sharing; participates in executive briefings and public engagements to promote Microsoft Cloud solutions. Leads group training and customer education on Microsoft capabilities; ensures cloud platform enablement and cross-resource collaboration to prepare customers for a cloud transformation. Other

Required/minimum qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years of experience in technical architecture, consulting, design/implementation, and/or technical sales OR Microsoft/non-M Microsoft certifications with 3+ years of such experience OR 5+ years of related experience. 3+ years of experience working directly with Azure or an equivalent cloud platform. Additional or Preferred Qualifications

4+ years of experience with cloud-based solution design, migrations, and management. Proven track record of collaborating with executive leadership. 3+ years of experience in pre-sales, sales engineering, or a technical-sales role with a quota-bearing component. Digital Cloud Solution Architecture IC4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD 51.15 - 97.88 per hour; there are location-based ranges in the San Francisco Bay Area and NYC metropolitan area (USD 66.15 - 107.02 per hour).
