We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Manager to join our client, a rapidly growing firm based in downtown Boston. In this role, you’ll oversee all aspects of payroll. You’ll also play a key role in managing their HRIS, supporting employee lifecycle changes (new hires, terminations, pay adjustments), and partnering with HR leadership to administer benefits and retirement programs. This is a great opportunity to make a direct impact in shaping the payroll function while working in a supportive, collaborative environment. This is a hybrid role based in downtown Boston What You’ll Do Payroll Administration:

Manage and process payroll, including regular wages, overtime, bonuses/commissions, and deductions. Ensure compliance with company policies and federal/state regulations. Employee Support:

Respond to payroll-related questions, resolve discrepancies, and provide clear communication on deductions, withholdings, and other concerns Benefits Integration:

Partner with HR leadership to ensure accurate benefit setup in the HRIS and smooth data flow between payroll and benefit providers HRIS & Employee Records:

Maintain accurate employee records (new hires, terminations, tax forms, pay/benefit changes, etc.) and support onboarding/offboarding processes Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities to streamline payroll and HRIS processes for greater efficiency Special Projects:

Collaborate with the VP of People and Director of HR on strategic HR and payroll initiatives What We’re Looking For Hands-on experience with payroll systems (UKG Ready preferred, but not required) Strong knowledge of payroll practices, compliance requirements, and related laws Excellent organizational skills and sharp attention to detail Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset Effective communicator with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (or similar tools) Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field 5+ years of relevant payroll experience Seniority level:
