The Strategic Account Executive will play a pivotal role in the successful launch and promotion of a new oncology drug designed to treat an ultra-rare blood cancer. This position requires a dynamic and strategic professional with a strong background in pharmaceutical sales. The Strategic Account Executive will be responsible for developing and maintaining productive relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, to drive the adoption of the new therapy. Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders where appropriate. Monitor and analyze territory level sales data. Proactively communicate with the marketing team through ongoing feedback on the development and implementation of effective selling materials. Participate on cross-functional teams to support key accounts within the geography. Collaborate with other account managers across the country. Engage in key account management that involves the entire care team. Educate on preparation and administration requirements of approved products; include adverse event mitigation, monitoring, and management. Educate patient care teams about initiation and management of patients per product protocols. Represent AbbVie as a partner of choice in the ultra-rare Hematology space with HCP and patient organizations. Attend and participate in local oncology society meetings, conferences, patient programs, support groups, advocacy events, etc., including evenings or weekends when required. Meet health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements for entry into facilities and organizations within the assigned territory, including background checks, drug screens, and proof of immunization/vaccination as applicable. Qualifications
Basics
5-7+ years of pharmaceutical/medical device sales Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong analytics with excellent business acumen including budget planning and management Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and influencing matrix partners Ability to foster relationships with senior management and external partners Self-directed and willing to travel on short notice when patient needs arise Demonstrate confidence, persuasiveness, and ability to influence without formal authority History of leading key account management with complex customers (e.g., IDNs, Academic Institutions, Hospitals, Large Groups) Patient centricity Willing to travel up to 75% of the time; business travel by air or car is regularly required Driving a personal or company vehicle or related equipment; valid driver’s license Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements Preferred
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Launch experience in pharmaceutical sales Rare disease/oncology/hematology experience Cross-functional collaboration and effective communication in a matrixed environment Ability to operate quickly and decisively in a fast-paced environment Previous account management experience MBA or graduate degree Familiarity with buy-and-bill therapies Omni-channel experience balancing in-person promotion with digital assets Additional Information
The compensation range described is the base pay range for this role at posting time; actual compensation depends on location and other factors. Comprehensive benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) for eligible employees. Eligible to participate in short-term and long-term incentive programs.
