Position Description:

The Development Database Specialist plays a critical role in the success of the development team by managing and optimizing the donor database. This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of the database, which is essential for strategic planning, fundraising, and donor engagement efforts. Database Management and Reporting: Serve as the in-house database expert (Veracross) and train staff on best practices. Partner with the Tech Department on updates, backups, and integrations. Maintain accurate donor records and implement data entry protocols. Conduct regular data audits and cleanups to ensure integrity. Generate and analyze reports on donor activity, fundraising progress, and campaigns. Gift Processing and Financial Reconciliation Process and record pledges and gifts, including stock donations. Collaborate with the Business Office to reconcile donor and financial records. Resolve discrepancies promptly and provide audit-ready reports and documentation. Donor Engagement (Research and Stewardship) Research and develop profiles for current and prospective donors using wealth screening tools. Support donor segmentation and targeted communications. Assist with donor mailings, pledge reminders, acknowledgments, and appeals. Maintain donor privacy and preferences in all communications. Qualifications : B.A. or B.S degree is preferred Experience working in a Development office Experience with databases (Veracross or Raiser’s Edge is a bonus), PC & Mac operating systems, Google Docs, Gmail, and Microsoft Office programs MCDS is an equal-opportunity employer and promotes the principles and practices of diversity throughout the school community.
