Pediatric Nephrologist

(ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. Duties:

The successful candidate will practice pediatric nephrology and will join our nephrology team of three others, including a pediatric nephrologist, one advanced practice provider, and a nurse coordinator. Additionally, the group has the support of a dietitian, pharmacist, and psychologist. Our team manages inpatient and outpatient dialysis of all forms, runs our ambulatory blood pressure monitoring program, and performs renal biopsies. The group is also closely aligned with our US News and World Report top-50 pediatric urology program. The peds nephrology team has collegial relationships with the neonatologists, hospitalists, and intensivists. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Qualifications:

Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for a state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed pediatric residency program, as well as pediatric nephrology fellowship program. Successful candidates must be board certified / eligible in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. WVU Medicine Children's

received its fourth consecutive title as the top children's hospital in West Virginia, according to U.S. News & World Report for 2024, which also ranked the hospital among the best in the region. Our 150 bed Children's Hospital has a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. The hospital includes 34 pediatric beds, 54 NICU beds, 15 PICU beds, 4 EMU beds, 8 CICU beds in the Heart Center, and a dedicated Cancer Center. WVU Medicine Children's is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently. There is also a Birthing Center including a 30-bed obstetrical unit and maternal-fetal medicine clinic. J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in West Virginia with a pediatric cardiac surgery program, the only epilepsy monitoring unit in the state equipped to serve children, and the only hospital in the state to receive Magnet status for nursing excellence.
