Clinical responsibilities include: 60-70%; Clinical expectations include providing direct patient care at UW Health locations in Madison, including ambulatory, inpatient and consult service attending. This includes proactively supporting efforts to improve diversity in clinical trial participants. 30-40%; Academic expectations include protected time to develop and teach a research or education program and to engage in related scholarly activity. Our providers participate in clinical teaching of fellows, residents and medical students, and support the teaching and clinical research missions of the division and department. Physicians hired on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) track will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members. Why UW? Education: Required Terminal Degree MD, DO or equivalent Qualifications: Strong skills in written and verbal communication, collaboration and teamwork, evidence of excellence in nephrology clinical practice and teaching, and academic interest in nephrology with prior publications in peer-reviewed journals preferred. License/Certification: Required ABIM - American Board of Internal Medicine Certification Ability to obtain license to practice medicine in Wisconsin. Current certification or eligibility for certification in Nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine J1 sponsorship is not available for this position. It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
