Presbyterian Medical Group seeks a Pediatric Hospitalist MD/DO to join our established practice. Manage a newborn nursery, attend high-risk deliveries and perform neonatal resuscitation/stabilization as needed.

Responsibilities

Summary: Cares for pediatric patients referred by the emergency department, urgent care and primary care providers, and returns care at discharge. The hospitalist manages pediatric inpatients and collaborates with nurse case managers, care coordinators, consulting and primary care physicians to provide efficient and compassionate care. Responsibilities:

Oversees and is accountable for overall quality of care and clinical outcomes within assigned facilities.

Oversees and is accountable for all resource utilization within the facilities.

Ensure patient and provider satisfaction and develop improvement plans.

Contribute to financial, clinical, and service quality performance planning (budget, capital plan, personnel issues).

Organize, attend and facilitate daily care team meetings.

Attend and participate in regular hospitalist meetings and requested QI, Peer Review and Care Management meetings.

Participate in Sub-specialist/Medical group meetings as requested.

Provide real-time feedback to PCPs regarding clinical and operational guidelines.

Maintain coding and encounter data standards for completeness, accuracy, timeliness and reimbursement.

Meet and maintain all provider credentialing and QI standards.

Participate in development and implementation of inpatient clinical standards.

Know contents of The Hospitalist Manual: An Evidence-Based Approach to Medicine.

Work with Medical Director to assure proper provider staffing, including vacation coverage.

Mentor and educate new Pediatric Hospitalists on PMG service standards.

Engage in educational activities to support professional growth.

Performs other functions as required.
