Pediatric Hospitalist Pediatrician
to join our established practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We offer a competitive salary with relocation allowance available, CME allowance and fully paid malpractice insurance. Practice highlights include 24/7 inpatient care for children with both routine and complex medical conditions, pediatric sedation services for noninvasive procedures and imaging, in-person and telemedicine consults for on-site EDs and urgent care locations, newborn nursery management, high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitation/stabilization as needed, and a thriving pediatric subspecialty group. The system provides 24x7 intensivist support via NICU and PICU, EPIC EMR with on-site support, and care for a culturally and socioeconomically diverse patient population. Position is within a not-for-profit health system with opportunities for professional growth and development. Responsibilities
Oversee and be accountable for the overall quality of care and clinical outcomes within the assigned facilities. Oversee and be accountable for all resource utilization within the assigned facilities. Ensure patient and provider satisfaction and develop plans for improvement. Provide input into the hospitalist team’s financial, clinical, and service quality performance; budget; capital plan; and personnel issues. Organize, attend and facilitate daily care team meetings within the assigned facility. Attend and participate in all regular scheduled hospitalist meetings. Attend and participate in requested QI, Peer Review and Care Management meetings. Attend and participate in Sub-specialist/Medical group meetings as requested. Provide real time feedback to PCPs regarding clinical and operational guidelines to optimize patient care and clinical efficiency. Maintain coding and encounter data standards for completeness, accuracy, timeliness and reimbursement level, including legible documentation. Meet and maintain all provider credentialing and QI standards. Participate in the development, adoption, and implementation of clinical standards for inpatient care. Be knowledgeable of The Hospitalist Manual: An Evidence-Based Approach to Medicine. Work with the Medical Director to assure proper provider staffing, including vacation coverage. Mentor and educate all new Pediatric Hospitalists on PMG's service standards. Enhance professional growth through participation in educational programs, literature review, in-services, and workshops. Performs other functions as required. Position Type
