Medical-Surgical Unit (6 North) Employment Type:
Travel Nurse, Locum Tenens Contract Duration:
13 weeks (Start: 11/4/2025 - End: 1/31/2026) Guaranteed Hours:
36 hours per week Nursing Shift:
Rotating 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week Estimated Weekly Salary Range:
$2,310-$2,470 Floating:
May float to other hospital units as needed Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience in a U.S. hospital Previous travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers not considered) Active Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts Current AHA BLS certification EPIC EMR experience required COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccination required Clinical IV skills and medication administration proficiency Strong communication skills; fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole is a plus for diverse patient care Must comply with 50-mile radius rule (local rate applies for local candidates) Med/Surg Nurse Responsibilities
Deliver safe, effective nursing care to patients in a busy medical-surgical unit Monitor and identify cardiac rhythms every 4 hours (unit-based monitors) Care for post-op surgical patients (general, orthopedics, GYN, vascular procedures) Manage patients with heart failure, chest pain, pneumonia, cellulitis, pancreatitis, alcohol withdrawal, and more Administer medications including Heparin, TPN, Lasix, Cardizem (non-titrating; protocols for all drips) Float to other hospital units as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
