You're an enthusiastic and compassionate dental assistant who thrives in a fast paced, team oriented pediatric environment. You love working chair side with doctors to educate and engage patients, helping promote lifelong dental and overall health. You're energized by meaningful patient interaction and take pride in creating positive experiences for children and families.
Other qualifications include:
Washington State Dental Assistant Registration (Required) 1+ year of dental assisting experience or graduation from an accredited dental assisting program (Preferred) CPR and WISHA certification (Preferred) Experience working with children (Preferred) Excellent communication skills to work effectively with patients, parents, and clinic staff Ability to pass a pre-employment background and professional references check What You'll Do:
As a pediatric dental assistant, you will work chairside with the doctor to promote good dental and general health through education and patient interaction.
A typical day will consist of:
Preparing patients for treatment and ensuring a comfortable experience Assisting with fillings, stainless steel crowns, extractions, and other pediatric procedures Performing coronal polishing (prophies), fluoride treatments, and sealants Taking digital x-rays and dental impressions Sterilizing instruments and disinfecting operatories Assisting with four handed and six handed dentistry Educating parents and patients on oral hygiene and post-op care Charting treatment notes accurately and managing documentation Supporting infection control and inventory management Collaborating with a positive, patient centered team
